“Dih” or “dihh” stands for “dick”, “ahh” for “ass” – deliberate misspellings to get past filters on TikTok.
“Dih” or “dihh” is a deliberately mangled spelling of “dick”, the penis. Following the same pattern, “ahh” stands for “ass”, the backside. Often, though, the words don’t mean the body part at all and just act as intensifiers: “goofy ahh” simply means “totally silly”.
Behind this is a principle called algospeak. Platforms like TikTok detect offensive words automatically and show such videos less often or delete them. Misspelling a word on purpose slips past these filters. The forms come from African American Vernacular English (AAVE), appeared on TikTok from December 2024 and were widespread in 2025.
In a chat you might read: “That was such a goofy ahh date” – meaning a pretty odd meet-up. Or more directly: “Show me dihh”.
