Over the last few days, three new features have been added, all of which serve the same purpose: to get a more authentic impression of one another before the first meeting.
Voice greeting
Record a short voice clip on your profile – a few seconds will do. Anyone visiting your profile will hear your voice before they message you. That often says more than three photos. The recording is checked before it’s published to ensure no one is offended or harassed, and you can delete or re-record it at any time.
Video call in chat
You can call each other directly from a chat – with video – in your browser, without needing an additional app or a phone number. The phone only rings if the other person is currently available and accepts the call. If you don’t want to be disturbed, you can turn this off in the settings.
Handshake
Do you already know each other in person? Then offer a handshake. The other person confirms it, and your profile will clearly show that you’ve actually met. This is a sign of trust for everyone else – one that can’t be bought or faked. Nothing happens without confirmation, and either party can withdraw the handshake at any time.
Also: Stars, reactions, holiday notice
You can rate pictures and galleries with stars or add a short reaction; the owner will see how their content is being received. And if you’re away, set an out-of-office notice: your profile remains visible, but chat partners will know that replies may take a while. Only those you’re already messaging will know exactly when and where you’ll be.
