The other day, one member had a completely white background as their profile picture. This isn’t a criticism – perhaps it was just a botched screenshot. But it led us to a question that’s important to us: How much of yourself do you need to show on DaddyBoy?
Faces are welcome
A face builds trust. People are more likely to message, reply and meet up when they can see a face. That’s why we’re delighted to see any profile picture where you’re recognisable.
But it’s never compulsory
We also know that not everyone can or wants to openly show that they love men. Some people aren’t out, have a family, a job where it would be sensitive, or live in a place where everyone knows everyone else. For them, a requirement to show their face would be a closed door. We won’t put up such a barrier, nor do we use facial recognition that would check for such things.
Our suggestion if you don’t want to be recognised:
Use a photo of yourself without showing your face as your profile picture: from behind, in profile, whilst playing sport, cooking or doing a hobby. It should show you, just not in a way that anyone can recognise you.
Put photos showing your face in a gallery and share them only with individual members you trust. You can do this directly from the chat via the ⋯ menu. You can revoke sharing at any time.

New: Blank images are no longer allowed
We no longer accept images that consist of just one colour, such as a white or black background. If you upload one, we’ll let you know straight away whilst you’re uploading it and guide you through the steps mentioned above. Images without faces are expressly not affected by this.
