Literally, “to slay” means to kill or to knock someone out. In youth slang it’s praise: if you “slay”, you do something brilliantly, come across with confidence or simply look stunning. As an exclamation, “slay!” stands for “amazing!” or “yes, exactly like that!”.

The expression is credited to the queer ballroom scene and is now a firm part of youth slang.

In a chat it sounds like this: “New profile pic? You just slay.” Or as a reaction to good news: “Got the promotion? Slay!”
